1. Who we are and who is responsible
Waypoint Mobile RV Services (“Waypoint,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is a mobile RV service business based in Gananoque, Ontario. Waypoint is responsible for personal information under its control.
Our Privacy Officer can be reached at service@waypointrv.ca or 613-929-8536. Direct written privacy requests to “Privacy Officer, Waypoint Mobile RV Services, Gananoque, Ontario.” A mailing address is available on request.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact and location information, such as your name, phone number, email address, service address, campground and site number.
- RV and service information, such as make, model, year, appliance details, issue descriptions, photos, service history and preferred dates.
- Business records, including estimates, work authorizations, invoices, payments, warranty information and communications.
- Technical information, which our website hosting and security providers may process automatically, such as IP address, browser or device type, date and time, requested pages, referring page and security or error logs.
We collect information directly from you, from someone acting with your authority, or automatically through the systems that deliver and protect the website.
3. The website enquiry tool
The contact-page form creates a draft message in your browser. Waypoint does not receive or store the fields you enter unless you choose to send the message through your text app, copy it into another channel, or otherwise contact us.
The homepage stores one small preference in your browser’s local storage so the cinematic intro does not automatically replay on every visit. It does not identify you and is not sent to Waypoint. This site does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser controls let you remove locally stored data.
4. Why we use information
We use personal information only for reasonable business purposes, including to:
- answer enquiries, assess service needs, schedule visits and confirm whether a location is in our service area;
- prepare estimates, obtain authorization, diagnose issues, provide services, source parts and communicate about the work;
- create invoices, process and record payments, keep service and warranty records, and meet tax, insurance and legal obligations;
- protect customers, Waypoint and the website from safety, fraud, misuse or security risks; and
- maintain and improve our services, website and customer experience using information that is reasonably necessary for that purpose.
If we want to use your information for a new purpose that you would not reasonably expect, we will explain that purpose and obtain consent when required.
5. Consent and your choices
By voluntarily providing personal information, you consent to its collection, use and disclosure for the purposes explained at the time and in this policy. You may withdraw consent, subject to reasonable notice and any legal or contractual limits. Withdrawing consent may prevent us from responding to an enquiry or providing a requested service.
We will not send commercial electronic marketing messages unless we have the consent or other lawful basis required to do so. Any marketing message will include a way to unsubscribe.
7. Retention and safeguards
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, to support warranty or service records, and to meet legal, tax, insurance and dispute-resolution requirements. When it is no longer required, we securely delete, destroy or anonymize it.
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No internet, email, text or storage system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required by law.
8. Access, correction and complaints
You may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it or correction of inaccurate or incomplete information. Send a written request to service@waypointrv.ca. We may need to verify your identity, and legal exceptions may limit access in some circumstances.
Please contact our Privacy Officer first with a question or complaint so we can investigate and respond. If a privacy concern remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
9. Children’s information
Our website and services are intended for adults arranging RV service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page where appropriate.
Questions about these practices? Email the Privacy Officer or read our Terms & Conditions.
